MS Baseball vs. Voyager Vikings – Tuesday, April 5, 2022

Excelsior Classical Academy defeated Voyager MS Vikings 6-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Henry Sloop induced a groundout from Cole Eisch to finish off the game.

In the first inning, Excelsior Classical Academy got their offense started.  Brayden Mottola drove in two when Mottola doubled.

Excelsior Classical Academy put up three runs in the second inning.  Griffin Kovalesky, Mottola, and Cameron Harper all drove in runs in the frame.

A double by Lucas Setji in the first inning was a positive for Voyager MS Vikings.

Kovalesky was on the hill for Excelsior Classical Academy. The righthander lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out one.

Aidan Daly toed the rubber for Voyager MS Vikings. Daly surrendered three runs on two hits over one inning, striking out one.  Cam Copley threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Excelsior Classical Academy had five hits in the game.  Mottola and Harper all managed multiple hits for Excelsior Classical Academy.  Harper and Mottola all had two hits to lead Excelsior Classical Academy.  Excelsior Classical Academy was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Wren Hash had the most chances in the field with four.

Voyager MS Vikings didn’t commit a single error in the field. Copley had  one chances in the field, the most on the team.
