MS Baseball vs. Oxford Preparatory – Tuesday, April 19, 2022

Despite allowing three runs in the third inning, Excelsior Classical Academy defeated Oxford Prep 6-3 on Tuesday.  Gaige Riddle, Jayden Covert, and AP Currin all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Excelsior Classical Academy opened up scoring in the first inning, when Brayden Mottola singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Henry Sloop toed the rubber for Excelsior Classical Academy. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one.

Tanner Abbott was on the mound for Oxford Prep. The pitcher surrendered five runs on four hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four.  Covert threw two and a third innings in relief.

Cameron Harper led Excelsior Classical Academy with three hits in four at bats.  Excelsior Classical Academy tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Mottola led the way with two.  Excelsior Classical Academy didn’t commit a single error in the field. Wren Hash had the most chances in the field with 12.
