MS Baseball vs. Roxboro Community- Monday, April 11, 2022

Excelsior Classical Academy jumped out to an early lead over Roxboro Community Charter and took home a 12-1 victory on Monday.  Excelsior Classical Academy scored on a error in the first inning, a single by Griffin Kovalesky in the second inning, and a single by Cameron Harper in the second inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, Roxboro Community Charter tied things up at one.

Excelsior Classical Academy pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.  In the second Kovalesky singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run and Harper singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Excelsior Classical Academy notched four runs in the seventh inning.  Excelsior Classical Academy big bats were led by Brayden Mottola, Harper, and Landon Harris, all driving in runs in the inning.

Mottola led things off on the mound for Excelsior Classical Academy. Mottola lasted seven innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out 14 and walking one.

C. Hodgin started the game for Roxboro Community Charter. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out three.  B. Wheeler threw three innings out of the bullpen.

Excelsior Classical Academy scattered seven hits in the game.  Harper, Kovalesky, and Ryan Dippolito all collected multiple hits for Excelsior Classical Academy.  Dippolito, Kovalesky, and Harper each collected two hits to lead Excelsior Classical Academy.  Excelsior Classical Academy was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Wren Hash made the most plays with  15.

Hodgin led Roxboro Community Charter with one hit in three at bats.
