MS Baseball vs. Voyager Vikings- Thursday, May 12, 2022

It came down to the wire on Thursday, with Excelsior Classical Academy taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Voyager MS Vikings.  The game was tied at five with Excelsior Classical Academy batting in the bottom of the seventh when Hamilton Malott singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Cameron Harper was on the mound for Excelsior Classical Academy. The righthander went two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three.

Philip Smith was on the pitcher’s mound for Voyager MS Vikings. The righty lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out five and walking zero.  Cam Copley threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Excelsior Classical Academy had 13 hits in the game.  Brayden Mottola, Griffin Kovalesky, and Thomas McDermott all managed multiple hits for Excelsior Classical Academy.  Mottola led Excelsior Classical Academy with four hits in four at bats.
