First Inning Plays Key Role in Excelsior Classical Academy Blow Out Over Roxboro Community

A nine-run first inning led Excelsior Classical Academy to a 15-2 victory on Thursday.  Patrick Browning, Jon Luke Harper, Collin Mottola, Hayden Sloop, and Griffin Kovalesky each drove in runs during the inning.

Excelsior Classical Academy got on the board in the first inning.  An error scored one run for Excelsior Classical Academy.

Browning was on the pitcher’s mound for Excelsior Classical Academy. The righty lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one.

White led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Roxboro Community. The pitcher went two innings, allowing 11 runs on eight hits and striking out one.  Walker threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Excelsior Classical Academy tallied one home run on the day. Harper had a dinger in the first inning.

Excelsior Classical Academy scattered 12 hits in the game.  Sloop, Kovalesky, Harper, Mottola, and Cannon Close all managed multiple hits for Excelsior Classical Academy.  Close, Mottola, Harper, Kovalesky, and Sloop each collected two hits to lead Excelsior Classical Academy.
