Powerful pitching performance by JonLuke Harper carries Excelsior past Roxboro Community

JonLuke Harper was dominant on the bump, as the right-handed pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in ECA’s victory over Roxboro Community on Friday. Harper allowed zero hits over 5 and one0third innings while walking two.

ECA opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. ECA first got on the board when Harper singled, scoring one run.

RCS took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to two errors.

Hamilton Malott singled, which helped ECA tie the game at three in tthe top of the seventh.

Sam White earned the win for ECA. The reliever gave up zero hits and one run (zero earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out tow and walking none.

Anderson White began the game for RCS. The right-handed pitcher allowed siz hits and two runs over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.

ECA collected 10 hits in the game. Sidney Schrieder and Harper each collected three hits for ECA. Malott, Schrieber, Harper and Sebastian Myers each drove in one run for ECA.

Jason Beneroso led RCS with two runs batted in. RCS turned two double plays in the game.
