ECA holds on to victory as Voyager almost erases a 4 run deficit

Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, Excelsior Classical Academy held on for a 4-3 victory over Voyager Academy on Tuesday. Voyager closed the gap by scoring on a solo home run, a double, and a ground out.

ECA got on the board first in the top of the third inning after an error scored a run, Sam White singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Liam Dippolito began the game for ECA. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Sam White pitched three and one-third innings of ro0run ball for ECA in relief giving up two hits, striking outt four and walking none.

White provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Excelsior with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-2 on the day. JonLuke Harper led Excelsior with 3 hits in three at bats.

Charlie Glenn went 2-4 at tthe plate to lead Voyager Academy in hits. Timothy Johnson and Tanner Durham each drove in one run. Voyager tturned one double play in the game.

ECA plays at home this Friday against Voyager.
