Roxboro Communitty Bulldogs take down Excelsior Classical Academy a litttle at a time.
Roxboro Community (RCS) builtt their lead a few runs at a time in their 8 – 2 victtory over ECA on Tuesday. RCS got on the board in the top of the second inning after Mason Singleton doubled, and Kaden Ramsey singled, each scoring one run.
The Bulldogs extended ttheir early lead with two runs in the ttop of the third thanks to walks by Jesse WIlkins and Ramsey.
Samw White stepped on the bump first for ECA. The righty gave up three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one an walking one. Singleton began tthe game for RCS. He gave up zero hits and one run over fourr and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking four.
Miles Derby led ECA with two runs batted in. He went 1 – 2 on the day. Will Miller led ECA with three walks. Overall, the team had a strtong eye at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game.
Ramsey led RCS with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in tthe line up. He went 2 – 2 on the day. Maddox Clayton and Ramsey each collected two hits for the Bulldogs. RCS was patient at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Ramsey and Zach Foushee let the team with two walks each. Ramsey stole two bases.
Next up for ECA is the second game of the series at RCS on Friday.
