Excelsior Classical Academy Takes The Lead And Never Looks Back In Win vs Vance Charter School

ECA easily dispatched Vance Charter on Friday 13 – 1.

ECA got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sidney Schreiber singled, scoring one run, Sam White drew a walk, scoring one run, Collin Mottola singled, scoring two runs, and Miles Derby was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

ECA added to their lead in the top of the second inning after JonLuke Harper singled, Hamilton Malott singled, and Liam Dippolito grounded out, each scoring one run.

ECA added to their lead again in the top of the thrid inning when Sebastian Myers singled, scoring one run, Malott singled, scoring two runs, and Dippolito drew a walk, scoring one run.

Harper earned the win for Excelsior. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out fourr and walking one. Hunter Satttterwhite stepped on tthe hill first for Vance Charter. The left-handed pitcher allowed two hits and five runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking three. Dippolito appeared in relief for Excelsior.

Malott led ECA with three runs batteed in. The catcher went 2 for 3 on the day. ECA had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Harper and White led the team with two bases on balls each. Myers stole three bases as ECA stole seven bases on the day. Excelsior didn’t commit a single error in the field. Malott had the most chances with seven.

Keenan, Gardner, Eric WIlson, Satterwhite, and Christian Journigan each collected on hit for Vance Charter. Wilson went 1 – 2 at the plate and led the team with one run battted in. Vance Charter turned one double play in the game.

ECA will travel to Triangle Day School on Monday to play in a non-conference match-up.
