JonLuke Harper Drives 6 Runners Home in ECA’s Victory Over Eno River Academy

JonLuke Harper drive in six runs on two hits to lead ECA past Eno River Academy on Monday. Harper doubled in the second, scoring three, singled in the first, scoring two, and walked in the first, scoring one.

Excelsior Classical Academy won thanks in part to 11 runs in the second inning. Miles Derby singled, scoring two runs, Harper doubled, scoring three runs, Hayden Sloop singled, scoring one run, Jaden McIver grounded out, scoring one run, Derby was struck by a pitch, scoring one run, and Sidney Schreiber singled, scoring two runs.

ECA got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after an error scored one run, Harper singled, scoring two runs, Liam Dippolito drew a walk, scoring one run, Cam )’Reilly drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored a run, Minor grounded out, scoring one run, Harper drew a walk, scoring one run, and Sebastian Myers drew a walk scoring one run.

Sloop earned the win for ECA. The left-handed pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. #20 started the game for Eno River. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and nine runs (four earned) over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking six.

ECA had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 16 walks for the game. Dippolito, Schreiber, Sloop, Myers, McIver, O’Reilly, and Minor led the team with two walks each. Derby stole two bases. ECA ran wild on the base paths, accumulating six stolen bases for the game. ECA was sure handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Derby had the most chances in the field with three.
