JonLuke Harper’s big day propels Excelsior Classical Academy past Oxford Prep

JonLuke Harper drove in six runs on two hits to lead ECA past Oxford Prep 22-2 on Thursday. Harper hit an inside the park home run in the fourth scoring three, singled in the third scoring two, and walked in the third scoring one.

ECA won thanks in part to 13 runs in the third inning. Hayden Sloop grounded out, scoring one run, Miles Derby drew a walk, scoring one run, Sidney Schreiber drew a walk, scoring one run, Harper singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Sloop drew a walk, scoring one run, Will Miller drew a walk, scoring one run, Derby singled, scoring two runs, Hamilton Malott drew a walk, scoring one run, and Harper drew a walk, scoring one run.

ECA added seven more runs in the top of the fourth inning on two hits. Miller drew a walk, scoring one run, Malott drew a walk, scoring one run, and Harper hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs.

Harper started the game for ECA. The righty surrounded two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking one. #3 began the game for Oxford Prep. He surrender three hits and eight runs (six earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking seven. Liam Dipploito appeared in relief for ECA.

Derby and Harper each collected two hits for ECA. ECA had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 17 walks for the game. Miller, Malott, and Dippolito led the team with three bases on balls each. ECA turned one double play in the game.

#16 for Oxford Prep went 1-2 at the plate as the pitcher led the team with one run batted in. #3 led Oxford Prep with two hits in three at bats.
