Excelsior Classical Academy Can’t Catch Up To Oxford Prep
Excelsior Classical Academy watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-2 loss to Oxford Prep on Wednesday. Oxford Prep took the lead on an error in the first inning. Oxford Prep fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored two runs for Oxford Prep. Oxford Prep scored three runs in the third inning. Riddle and Covert all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Wamsley was on the mound for Oxford Prep. The hurler allowed zero hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
Patrick Browning toed the rubber for Excelsior Classical Academy. The pitcher allowed five hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out five. Hamilton Malott led Excelsior Classical Academy with two hits in three at bats.
