O’Reilly’s Walk-off Gives Excelsior Classical Academy Victory Over Voyager Vikings

It came down to the wire on Sunday, with Excelsior Classical Academy taking victory on a dramatic walk-off groundout in the late innings that sealed their victory over Voyager Vikings. The game was tied at two with Excelsior Classical Academy batting in the bottom of the seventh when Camden O’Reilly grounded out, scoring one run.
 
The pitching was strong on both sides. Excelsior Classical Academy pitchers struck out five, while Voyager Vikings pitchers sat down four.
 
Excelsior Classical Academy got things started in the first inning. Excelsior Classical Academy scored one run when Sammy White singled.
In the top of the sixth inning, Voyager Vikings tied things up at two. Mason Singleton grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Cannon Close was the winning pitcher for Excelsior Classical Academy. Close went two innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out one and walking zero.
 
Bennett Britt led things off on the mound for Voyager Vikings. The pitcher surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out four. Singleton threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Patrick Browning started the game for Excelsior Classical Academy. The pitcher surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.
 
Jaden McIver, Close, White, and Griffin Kovalesky each managed one hit to lead Excelsior Classical Academy.
